Once upon a time...

In «The Pursuit of Happiness.» we are primarily concerned with the exhibition «Lullabies. The child in Klee» and one of the most beautiful emotions of humankind – happiness. For 20 weeks, the Creaviva Loft will be transformed into a type of amusement park or fair where we can almost touch the inconceivable, small and fleeting happiness of this world by looking through peepholes, balancing on spinning plates or creating our own lucky charms.

From 17 August to 4 September 2011, the Basel Paper Mill is guest in the Children's Museum Creaviva, fully equipped with vats and sieves, marble colouring, letter-casting oven, type boxes and book printing presses. The museum collection, which comes to life with hands-on, do-it-yourself displays, shows just how exciting history can be, and also how museums can hold your imagination. With experts on-the-spot to help, visitors can get involved in real active processes, or immerse themselves in the history of paper, writing and printing.

Most boxes come from somewhere or are on their way to some place. Boxes tell stories. They are messengers from other worlds wearing timber uniforms of dreams.
