Once upon a time...
Young Scene Bern
Carmen in school. An adaptation.
The opera Carmen is studied during music lessons. The students are skeptical as they start to engage in the subject-matter. They judge the oeuvre as uncool, old-fashioned and boring. Furthermore, there is a new student. He seems a lot more interesting, since he has been rebellious in the past and now he needs to proove himself to his new classmates. Carmela thinks that he’s cute. Typical: she comes on to everybody…
Equally typical: the teacher keeps at the opera and little by little the story about José and his fateful love to Carmen captivates the students.
