With the Zentrum Paul Klee (ZPK) a place of encounter suited to our time should be created. And in this sense we welcome you warmly. Make your acquaintance here with the life and work of one of the most fascinating artists of the 20th century. Immerse yourself in the world of art and so experience a cultural expression which contributes to the quality of our lives. It lies in the nature of art that these meetings are open. You are also actors in this exchange, in the same way as the artists or their works.

The Zentrum Paul Klee, an idea of its founder Prof. Maurice E. Müller and the descendants of the artist, Paul Klee, opened its doors in 2005. More than 4'000 works of Paul Klee are stored and conserved here, representing a unique collection of world-wide significance. As an academic centre of excellence, the Zentrum Paul Klee is dedicated to researching the life and works of Paul Klee. A selection from this extraordinary collection is presented in changing exhibitions. The works are mostly drawings since they constitute the majority of Klee’s oeuvre.

In recognition of the multifaceted personality of the artist, the Zentrum Paul Klee also provides a platform for bringing together different forms of artistic expression. Concerts, readings and a wide variety of other events are staged by the ZPK in addition to exhibitions of Klee’s work and works by further important artists, including contemporary figures. Special emphasis is given to promoting an awareness of multidisciplinary art, to which the Kindermuseum Creaviva makes a particular contribution. Finally, the Zentrum Paul Klee is also a meeting place and its excellent infrastructure offers a unique Event & Congress location for all manner of functions.
