Opening: 15.09.2021, 5pm

The interactive exhibition at the Creaviva Children's Museum on the work of Max Bill was developed in collaboration with students from the School of Design in Bern and Biel. The class of poly-designers under the direction of René Hauser chose as a basis a work that is disassembled into individual parts in the room. On each back wall of the geometric elements of the work "rhythmus in vier quadraten" (1943), there is one of a total of six participatory stations.

Max Bill is considered a representative of concrete art. Even though he was committed to a certain aesthetic language and dealt intensively with principles of order, the name "formenspiel" refers to Bill's diversity and versatility. He was a visual artist, but also set standards with applied works - as a designer, architect and graphic artist. In addition, he was committed and politically active.

With different interactive stations, the Creaviva invites all people to encounter this diversity also in the mediation: On the one hand, the three-dimensional works are in the foreground, where guests learn about the Moebius Loop and are encouraged to build sculptures with existing materials and experience the space in the form of a walk-through rope jungle. On the other hand, intuitive and playful actions such as a drawing dictation in partnership or plug-and-play games enable visitors* to access Bill's geometric works and thus sharpen their perception of his compositions, of the artistic order based on mathematical principles, which is to be understood in contrast to the image of nature that surrounds us.

The Interactive Exhibition is open daily from Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. in the Loft and is aimed at a multigenerational audience ages 4-88.
